Ann C.

Ann is a leader of our long-running Monday sorting crew, a leader at our mobile distributions, and quite possibly our current longest-serving volunteer. She has been volunteering at Feeding the Foothills since before most of us started working here and we are so glad she has stuck around. We found this photo of her at our warehouse in 2012, shortly after we moved in!

Ann was born in Washington and grew up in Idaho. She has been volunteering since the 70's, and at Feeding the Foothills since the mid-2000s.

Fast Facts:

  • Nickname: Nanny
  • Favorite foods: Beef short ribs, enchiladas and lasagna.
  • Hobbies: Gardening, cooking, golfing, traveling, wine tasting and hanging out with friends.
  • Favorite travel destinations: She's been to England, Scotland, France, and Malaysia, but her favorite is Singapore (and its food!).

Surprising Fact: Ann shared with us that when she was a child, she and her family were interned at a Japanese internment camp during WWII.

One of our favorite things about Ann is her dedication to our mission. She has a keen eye for detail and combined with her many years at the food bank, she is fantastic at seeing ways we can improve or expand our programs to reach more folks in need. We love hearing her ideas, feedback, and creative solutions that keep us focused on helping more people. She is an incredible resource for FTF history, and she continues to shape our future through her service.

She also makes amazing banana nut bread, we hope you'll be lucky enough to try it sometime!
