Pantry To Go Check-In Training NEW

Expired

Description

Check-in is changing!

Informational training shift for you to explore and get comfortable with the new check-in system!

This opportunity is for anyone and everyone interested in helping to check our clients in when they attend a mobile distribution. We collect some basic data from them to use in our own tracking and to tailor what we provide to their needs.

We are offering this shift because we're changing how we do check-in and want everyone who is interested in this role going forward to get a little time to play with the new check-in system before they're out on-site at a distribution. Whether or not you've done check-in before, we'd like you attend this shift once so you're up to speed.

A great check-in volunteer is someone who is:

  • Excited about spending 2-3 hours talking with lots of new people from a variety of cultures and life experiences
  • Friendly, patient, and respectful in conversations with folks in varied emotional states and across possible language barriers
  • Able to see, hear, and speak English (any additional language proficiency is a HUGE help!)
  • Able to stand, walk, and carry a clipboard safely for up to 3 hours amidst a slow-moving line of cars at a busy distribution
  • Aware of their own needs and limits and comfortable communicating when they need breaks or assistance from other volunteers or staff
  • Comfortable logging data (after training) both manually with pen and paper and digitally on an iPad (basic iPad/tablet/smartphone proficiency required)

If this sounds like you, we hope you'll sign up for training!
